Phyllis Smart, 95, passed away on January 31, 2017. Phyllis served as a WAVE during WWII and was a gunnery instructor. She was later employed as an administrative assistant in the Center for Executive Development at ASU’s College of Business Administration. She is survived by a son, granddaughter, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and four siblings. A memorial service will be held at Messinger Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills on Monday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA to follow.
