Philip Larry Silberman

Philip Larry Silberman, 72, passed away on August 29, 2014. Phil graduated from Iowa State University with a Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry. In 1972 he moved to Scottsdale and began teaching at Scottsdale Community College. He taught chemistry for 35 years including as an adjunct Professor at ASU and NAU. During his tenure at SCC he served as a Professor and Chair of the Math/Science department. He was also recognized for many teaching awards. Phil is survived by his wife, Karen, four children, 13 grandchildren, his ex wife, Ronna, as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother. A memorial at ACC Banquet Facility (8849 E. Cholla St, Scottsdale, AZ 85260) is planned forFriday September 12, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Following the memorial there will be a party celebrating Phil.
