A small but enthusiastic group of ASU Retirees met on November 17, 2010 at the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) ReStore located at the northeast corner of Dobson Road and Southern in Mesa.  The meeting was hosted by ASU’s former associate VP for telecommunications, Darel Eschbach, who has been a dedicated volunteer for HFH for over 10 years. 

HFH staff members were on hand to describe the history and purpose of Habitat for Humanity since its inception.  Darel provided his own history and described his particular area of expertise:  “de-construction” of homes in order to salvage usable items (e.g. cabinets, light fixtures, fans, doors, countertops, sinks, mantels) that are then sold through the HFH ReStores.  Profits from the ReStores are then invested in new homes for qualified individuals.
