Minutes for March 9, 2021

The ASURA Board met on March 9, 2021.  The budget is in good standing and offers the opportunity to spend extra money on various items such as printing hard copies of Celebrating A Third Decade of Success. Simin Levinson, President of the University Senate, reported on the strategic efforts of the University which are primarily aimed at technology through the Fulton Colleges of Engineering.  The engineering programs at the ASU Polytechnic Campus will be expanding.  Joy Shearman reported that the scholarship process has experienced a slight delay but will have a recipient selected prior to the Annual Meeting. Also, our current recipient will be available to make a short presentation. Jeri Meeks and Pat Schneider have been keeping an eye on the Arizona Legislature. There are several bills dealing with election voter restrictions and support for aging. Five new board members were elected and the officers confirmed for the coming year include: President Larry Edmonds, Past President Carl Cross, Vice President Kathy Gunn, Treasurer Barry McNeill, and Secretary Jane Carey.
