Michael Fabian

Dr. Michael W. Fabian was a graduate of the Grove City College class of 1952, earned a master's degree at Michigan State University and doctorate in Zoology from Ohio State University in 1964. 

He completed a project sponsored by the state of Ohio and proved that cyclops, (a micro-organism) will devour fish and can be a threat to the fish population. This was published in the Ohio Journal of Science. He was awarded a National Science Foundation fellowship for advanced research and study.

He also  studied at Duke University and Arizona State University. Mike retired as chairman of the Biology Department at Grove City College, was an associate professor at Westminster College, assistant professor at Geneva College, an instructor at Arizona State University, and a teacher at the Cleveland Public Schools. 

Mike is survived by his former wife, Janet (Mitchell) Fabian, a son, a daughter, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his five great grandchildren. He is survived by his dear companion of many years Lois (Elaine) Preslipsky.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Steve and Mary (Matanin) Fabian.

Memorial donations can be made to Grove City College General Scholarship Fund. A Memorial Service will be held on Feb. 25, 2023.
