Dr. Maynard C. Nieboer, 76, passed away on August 18, 2010. Dr. Nieboer was an ordained minister in the Reformed Church of America. He was a pastor in several churches in the Midwest and served for ten years as a Campus Chaplain at ASU. While there he earned a doctorate degree in psychology and initially worked with a Christian Counseling group in Arizona. He subsequently moved to California and started a private practice in San Jose. During the last few years of his work life he was a clinical psychologist in the psychiatric unit at Folsom Prison. He also had a degree in Chemical Engineering and was a graduating member of the ROTC at Western Michigan University. He is survived by his wife Kathryn, three children, three step-sons, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four siblings.
