Martha Giffin, 74, passed away on April 27, 2014. She served on the Governing Board of Tempe School District No. 3 and the Tempe Planning and Zoning Commission. Martha is survived by her husband, Fred. He retired from ASU in 2000 and is Professor Emeritus, History. Martha is also survived by a son, two grandsons and a brother. She was preceded in death by a son. Donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (aspca.org) or the Natural Resources Defense Council (nrdc.org).
