Marshall R. Minter, Jr.
Taught in Dept. of Industrial Design and Technology
Marshall R. Minter, Jr.,92, died Oct. 22, 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind. He worked as an engineer and then executive of American Steel Foundry. Marshall also taught part time at Purdue University Extension before moving his family to Arizona in 1965 where he taught at ASU in the department of Industrial Design and Technology. He earned a Masters degree in engineering from the University of Arizona. Marshall retired from ASU in 1982 and was honored as a Professor Emeritus. Marshall moved from the Valley to White Mountain Lakes in 1993. Marshall was a captain in the Marines and served in WWII during the occupation of Japan and the Korean War, where he flew over enemy territory as an artillery spotter. Marshall was preceded in death by Mabry, his 30 plus year companion, and his parents. He leaves behind two daughters, a son, granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
