Mariam Rose Austin, 89, passed away December 3, 2016. Mariam earned her master's degree in education from Stanford in 1948. She taught in several schools and colleges: Chandler HS, ASU, Tucson HS, Glendale HS and Glendale Community College spanning the years from 1948-1996. She coached women's sports of all kind including several regional titles in women's field hockey. Mariam is survived by two sons, a stepson, stepdaughter, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a brother.
