Lucile Angell White
Lucile Angell (Lucy) White,81, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Lucy was preceded in death by a sister, brother-in-law and niece. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Harold White, Emeritus Professor at ASU and past officer of ASURA; a daughter, two grandchildren, a sister, brother-in-law and nephews. Lucy graduated from Idaho State University as the highest ranked student in her college. Beginning as a child, she was an accomplished violinist and played in the symphonies of Walla Walla, Idaho State University and ASU. She played the harp for the ASU and Scottsdale symphonies. For thirty years, she played the harp professionally at Valley-wide hotels and resorts and throughout the state for dinners, brunches, and social and religious gatherings and for ASU academic and social events. She was a grade school teacher and taught harp at religious and public schools and privately. She was the founding chair of the ASU Lyric Opera Theatre Guild, was president of Chapter F of PEO, and was a volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
