Ken Caldwell

Dr. Ken Caldwell, 80, passed away December 17, 2013. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He owned the Loveall Music Company in Texarkana, TX, from 1986 to 2009. With a doctorate in music education, he was best known for clinicing bands all over the world. He was a guest conductor for All-State bands in Texas, California, Arizona, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Arkansas, and has been an international guest conductor in England, Scotland and Switzerland; also for the Los Angeles Raiders and LA Rams. He opened up the Edinburgh Highland Games of Scotland, the Festival of Fete Des Vignerons in Geneva, Switzerland; and Tournament of Roses Parade. Dr. Caldwell taught in Texas, at ASU in Tempe, Ariz., and at other colleges. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joe Caldwell. Survivors include a son, daughter, granddaughter, brother and two sisters. A memorial service was held on December 21, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 3015 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas.
