Dr. Joseph Wythe Wilkinson served as a Professor of Accountancy at Arizona State University in Tempe from 1964 until his retirement in 1996.

He was an ASU Retirees Association Board Member from 2003 to 2006. He also served as the Retirees Association Education Chair from 2001 to 2007. In that role he led the committee that put on the annual Retirees Day event.

Survivors include two sons and six grandchildren. His wife Sharon and a son preceded him in death.

A funeral service was held on January 2, 2024.
