Joseph C. Schabacker, 91, former ASU Professor and Vice President, passed away on June 17, 2011. Dr. Schabacker held degrees in Business Management from Temple University and UCLA. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jerilyn C. Schabacker, six children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His first wife, Dorothy Mae Smith, preceded him in death. Dr. Schabacker served his country in the Marine Corps, both active and reservist, and retired as a full Colonel. During most of his life he was an accomplished gymnast and acrobat. Dr. Schabacker volunteered his time and talents to many organizations in his lifetime. Especially close to his heart were Jr/Sr ROTC programs, MOWW, ROA, and his 19 year Presidency of the International Federation of Sports Acrobatics.
