Joseph Alanson Norton, 100, passed away on May 5, 2011. Joe graduated from the University of Utah in 1932 with a BA in Business following graduation from LDS High School in 1928. He became the registrar at the University of Utah in 1944 and held that post until 1965, when he was chosen to be the Director of Admissions at ASU. He retired from that position in 1976. He was appointed to several positions of responsibility over the years in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. His wife Ida passed away just before her 99th birthday in March of 2010. He is survived by two brothers, three children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
