ASU remembers
Joni A. White
Accounting Department
Joni A. White's love for dance began early. She started as a ballet enthusiast in her youth elementary school and later found joy in competing and teaching country and western dance as an adult. In junior high, Joni (and Lori) had the privilege of dancing in the chorus at the San Diego Civic Theater in a production that starred Rudolf Nureyev, the greatest ballet dancer of his generation. Joni's first profession was as a cosmetologist. She was gifted at cutting thick, wavy wiry hair because that is what her family members had! Joni later transitioned to keeping her fingers busy as an accountant and retired from Arizona State University. Her meticulous attention to detail and dedication left an indelible mark on the institution. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Melvin White, who stood by her side through every step of their journey. Her legacy extends to her three beloved sons and five grandchildren. Joni's family tree also includes her three siblings. |
