Dr. John B. Kelly, 89, passed away on December 27, 2010. Dr. Kelly served as a lifelong professor of mathematics at ASU. Dr. Harvey Smith, former chair of the Math Department, wrote that Dr. Kelly was friendly, but very shy and low-key— a sound scholar and teacher. Dr. Smith's son had Dr. Kelly for an advanced course and said he was very thorough and a good teacher. He is survived by a sister-in-law, nieces, a nephew and other relatives.
