John Gaylord Colton, 88, passed away on January 19, 2016. He enlisted in the Army as weatherman in 1944. He graduated from Stanford University with an Industrial Engineering degree. After working for Owens Corning in Indiana John moved his family to Arizona and started Colton Building Systems in 1970. He served on numerous boards; the most notable being past president of the Arizona Associated Builders and Contractors, member of ASU Del E Webb advisory board, member and past board member of Arizona Country Club, Rotary 100 and a former Scoutmaster. His ASU support extended to annual scholarships for students of ASU Del E. Webb School of Construction. He is survived by his wife, Joan, three children, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two siblings.
