Joan Lee Oliver, 85, died on December 29, 2011. Joan was an elementary school teacher at Phoenix Country Day School and an avid traveler and bridge player. She earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Washington State University and a Master's degree in Education from ASU. Joan taught in Daly City and Yuba City, California, in the Isaac School District in Phoenix, and finally for 20 years at PCDS. She and her husband lived in Rome, Italy, and The Hague, Netherlands, during their early years together. They visited over 100 countries, continuing their international travel into their eighties, and circling the globe at least twice. Joan’s husband, Robert Sheldon Oliver, passed away in 2010. He was an ASU Professor Emeritus of Architecture. Joan is survived by her brother, four children and four grandchildren.
