James Carney

James Donald Carney, 86, passed away on June 20, 2017. He received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Nebraska and was a professor of philosophy at Kenyon College, Ohio; The University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand; and ASU, where he inspired scores of students and won many teaching awards. He authored countless academic articles and many books, including Introduction to Symbolic Logic. James was married to Eliza Singleton Macaulay Carney for over fifty years, and is survived by two daughters. (Source: Arizona Republic)
