Howard Arthur Parker, 81, a retired college professor and husband of Mary Agnes Jones Parker, died February 1, 2012. He attended the University of Vermont and was a med-tech in the Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor's and master's degrees and a Ph.D. in sociology. He taught at the University of Alberta, ASU and the University of Hartford, where he was chairman of the sociology department. He and his wife retired to Lexington, Va. He is survived by two sons, three grandchildren and a brother.
