Herman Bouwer

Dr. Herman Bouwer, 86, passed away July 28, 2013. He was one of the world's leading researchers in water management and groundwater. He was a native of The Netherlands and moved to the United States in 1952 for his Ph.D. from Cornell University. He worked for 43 years at the U.S. Water Conservation Laboratory, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture in Phoenix, serving as Director for 18 years. Herman was also an adjunct faculty member of both U of A and ASU. Herman is survived by his wife, Jessie, a daughter, two sons and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, 500 W.
