Henry B. Sargent, Jr., 81, died on January 28, 2016. He attended Stanford University and the University of Arizona, where he earned a BA (cum laude) in economics. In 1957 he earned his MS in economics and finance from Columbia University in New York. Sargent spent his career at Arizona Public Service, and its parent company, Pinnacle West Capital Corp. When he retired in 1995, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pinnacle West, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of both Pinnacle West and APS. He was devoted to promoting the arts community in Phoenix. He served as president of the Phoenix Symphony in the 1970s. He served as chairman of the alumni association of the University of Arizona's College of Business. He and his wife established the Claire and Henry Sargent Graduate Fellowship in Theatre in ASU’s School of Film, Dance and Theatre. Sargent is survived by his wife, Claire King Sargent, three children and a brother.
