Hazel Mae Smith, 81, entered into her heavenly home on February 10, 2009. Born in Oklahoma to Ellis and Georgia Black on March 12, 2007. Hazel was raised in Oklahoma and Arkansas and had 5 brothers and 1 sister. She moved to Arizona in 1944. Hazel retired from ASU/Grady Gammage after 24 years of service. She was a member of Skyline Fellowship Baptist Church, enjoyed crocheting, fishing and gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband, Christopher and daughter, Christene. She is survived by her brother, Lester Black (Battleground, Wa); son, Kenneth (Ellen) of Young, AZ; daughters, Joyce Whittle of Spokane, Wa, Shirley (Darrel) Pichoff of Prescott, Az, Charlene (Mike) Conner of Gilbert, Az; 14 grandchildren, 20 plus 1 on the way great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
