Glenn Wilt, Jr.

Dr. Glenn Audubon Wilt, Jr. received an A.B. degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1956, an MBA degree in 1958 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Ph.D. degree from the Business School at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1963.

In 1962, after completing his course work at Michigan, he accepted an Assistant Professor position at the then-named College of Business Administration at Arizona State University in Tempe.  He was an early pioneer in “distance learning” and taught his early classes at ASU on Channel 8 KAET television, and was also a weekly moderator on a weekly television news show titled “Arizona Business” which ran from 1963 through 1970, on which he interviewed many nationally-prominent business people.

Dr. Wilt taught his last class in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, achieving some 49.5 years of teaching in that school. Dr. Wilt had a distinguished teaching career, giving information and counseling to thousands of students and was visited after his retirement by many former students and teaching assistants.

Dr. Wilt was also a Real Estate Investor and life-long bachelor. He is survived by his adopted family, including Gregory E. and Helen N. Rowles and by his two godchildren. Dr. Wilt is also survived by his two cousins.

Memorial services was held on April 4, 2023.
