Geraldine (Gerry) G. Thompson, 89, passed away April 20, 2014. Gerry graduated from Arizona State College (ASU) in 1947 with a B.A. in education and later with a M.A. in counseling. She was editor of the State Press and while working on the State Press, met her future husband, Howard F. Thompson, who later became a Superior Court judge. Gerry retired from ASU in 1986 after 25 years as a Counseling Supervisor in the Education Department. She was a member of the Arizona State Psychological Assoc. and of the Maricopa Mental Health Assoc. She became a Certified Psychologist in Arizona and had a private practice. She sat on the Board of Directors of the Community Council of Maricopa County and was a member of the League of Women Voters. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Howard and two of her three children. She is survived by a daughter, two grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and eight grant grandchildren.
