Gerald Dean Short ("Deano") dedicated a significant portion of his life to both his profession and his passions, leaving a lasting impact on his community. For over 25 years, he worked in janitorial services for Arizona State University, a role in which he became much more than an employee; he was an integral part of the university environment, earning respect and admiration from students and faculty alike. Deano's connection to Arizona State University extended far beyond his career. He passionately supported the ASU baseball team, showcasing unwavering loyalty as a fervent fan who never missed a game. Deano enthusiastically engaged with the team, helping out in various capacities, and even had a beloved tradition of running out to the pitcher's mound during games to rally both the players and the fans. A celebration of Deano's life was held on September 14, 2024. |
