Gail Phillips Fleming attended the University of Arizona where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women and received a B.S. in Business Administration in 1959.

Gail attended Arizona State University for her graduate studies in Tempe. At ASU she received her M.A. in Early Childhood Education in 1969. In 1981 she was awarded the Delta Kappa Gamma State Scholarship and received her Ed.D. in Elementary Education later that year.

Dr. Gail Fleming was very serious about education and she was highly motivated. Her career in education began as an elementary school teacher and she simply loved it. She taught in the Creighton Elementary School District from 1961 until 1965, then she taught in the Madison Elementary School District at Madison Heights from 1969 until 1988. She cherished every one of her students, remembering each one by name throughout her life.

Beginning in 1987 and periodically throughout her career, she served on the adjunct faculty at ASU teaching in the areas of child development and early childhood education.

In 1988, Gail changed her education career pathway to school administration.

Gail is survived by her three children and five grandsons.
