Frank Spinosa, 85, died December 5, 2015. Frank began playing the violin at the age of seven and continued years of studying to obtain his Bachelors and Masters in Music from Boston University. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts in 1969 from the University of Illinois. Frank was a Professor of Music at ASU known for his devotion to excellence and an incredible sense of humor. Throughout the years, he was concert violinist and Concert Master in many symphonies across the country. His Quartet with Gene, Bill, and Taki was nationally and internationally recognized. He was a conductor for the Sun City and Mesa Orchestras. He authored several popular books on "string technique". Frank also played shows for hundreds of national acts and plays that came through Phoenix. Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara, five children, three grandchildren and three siblings. At his request, there will be no services. (Source: Arizona Republic)
