Esther Valezuela Martinez, 62, passed away on December 9th 2011. She is predeceased by her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by four children, three siblings and eight grandchildren. Esther loved to cook, and loved her music. She was known for her independence: she marched to her own drummer. Esther was part of another “family,” the group who worked at ASU’s Polytechnic campus when the campus was just getting started. She was known by colleagues for her competence, good humor, directness, kindness, and generosity, especially efforts to raise funds for the annual United Way drive. She was a good employee and a fine campus citizen.
