Denise Nielsen Tackett

Denise Nielsen Tackett, 67, died February 23, 2015. Denise was a free-lance writer and photographer who lived and worked overseas for 14 years as a research diver for ASU Cancer Research Institute. During this time, she lived in 12 different countries. For 10 years, she owned an international travel and photography business. Denise discovered, and had named for her, a pygmy seahorse species, Hippocampus denise. She wrote and published three books, was the initial director for the Wetzel County Museum. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister. Surviving are her husband, Larry, and three nieces. Her ashes were returned to her beloved Lembeh Strait in Indonesia.
