December 2024 Holiday Potluck and Bake Sale

The annual ASURA Holiday Potluck and Bake Sale was held on December 10, 2024. This will probably be the last event we hold in CSB, now that it is designated for demolition. It was a grand final event.

Kay Faris and her crew of elves, Trudy Perez and Partha Dasgupta, organized and presented the event. The tables all had red table clothes with a holiday center piece. As usual the potluck included a wide range of food, interesting and delicious. The desert bar overflowed with holiday goodies.

There was musical entertainment, two flutes and a keyboard, delivered by Terrie Ekin (flute), Jan Thompson (keyboard), and Brianna McGill (flue). Brianna is ASU master's student in Materials Science and Engineering. Maybe the highlight of the event was when Carl Cross, more or less spontaneously I think, rose and sang a holiday favorite accompanied by Terrie, Jan, and Brianna. I felt like joining in but did not really know all the words, maybe next year.

Trudy Perez and her sister ran the return of the Bake Sale. They did a wonderful job of flogging the sale and raised a bit over $200. I'm still enjoying the peanut brittle.
