David Ray Gourley achieved a Bachelor's degree from Miami of Ohio, a Master's from Toledo University, and a Doctorate from Indiana University. 

Professionally,David was a Business Professor at Arizona State University. His commitment to education and mentorship shaped the lives of countless students over his thirty-year tenure. 

Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, David was a fervent supporter of ASU football. He served as a faculty advisor for the Marketing Club and was a board member of the Tempe Credit Union, the University Club, and the Chamber of Commerce.

David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Gourley, his three children, and by his four grandchildren, as well as his six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on December 7, 2024.
