There are three Community Outreach Committees: Adopt-A-Family, Scholarship, and Video History.
ASURA works with both the Tempe School District and ASU's Off campus Student Services to select needy families who are provided with clothing, food and holiday gifts each Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. For the past several years this has been a one person committee, the chair who buys, wraps, and delivers the various packages. You can learn more about this project on our site or by contacting the chair of the Adopt-A-Family committee.
Our ASURA Reentry Student Scholarship is administered by the ASU Scholarship Office. Our ASURA Scholarship Committee working with ASU gets the scholarship advertised and reviews qualified applicants each year. Once the top candidates are selected their names are sent to the Scholarship Office for final processing. You can learn more about this committee on our site.
If you would like to be on this committee please contact the chair of the Scholarship Committee.
The ASURA Video History Project records video interviews with retired and former employees of ASU who have a significant history with the university. Each interview contains a unique story from the individual's perspective regarding ASU and its history. You can read more about this project, including how to view the completed interviews, on our site.
If you would like to help with this committee's work please contact the chair of the Video History Committee
