Colene Rebecca Sehested
Professor Emerita, College of Nursing
Colene Rebecca Sehested, ASU Emerita Professor, passed away on November 8, 2012. Colene began teaching at ASU in the 1960’s. She taught community health nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate level in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She served in leadership positions in both the college and community and was one of the co-leaders in developing the joint MS/MPH Tri-University program with Dr. Pat Moore and Dr. Phyllis Primas in 2001, with support from a HRSA grant. She mentored many students through their capstone projects. After her retirement in 2004 from CONHI, Colene continued to work part time at Grand Canyon University and was active in AZNA and other professional and community organizations. Colene is survived by her husband, Don, a daughter, a granddaughter, her mother, two siblings, a niece and nephew. Colene was preceded in death by her father.
