Charles Walker

Charles S. Walker,76, passed away Monday, February 20. He is survived by his wife Beverly, a daughter, son, sister and grandson. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he also obtained a masters degree in electrical engineering. He taught in the engineering department at ASU in the mid-1960s, and helped pioneer the school's earliest computer-science curriculum. He also taught at Kansas State University before entering the business world in Chicago. After working for the Department of Energy at Idaho National Laboratory, he returned to Tempe in 1981 to work as a computer consultant, then for Valley Bank/Bank One/Chase until retirement. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
