Charlie Arntzen joined ASU in August 2000 as the Florence Ely Nelson Presidential Endowed Chair and retired in 2016 from the School of Life Sciences and Biodesign Institute. Charlie was the founding Director of the Biodesign Institute. He was interviewed by the Arizona State University Retirees Association Video History Project on May 8, 2019. In the interview Charlie describes, among other things, his recruitment by Milt Glick and Lattie Coor, the creation of the Biodesign Institute with its emphasis on collaboration, and the development of a drug cocktail fight Ebola.
