Carolyn Lee Schlarbaum (Tully) was passionate about academia and the only person in her family to attain a degree in higher education. She completed her B.A and master's degree from Arizona State University, where she went on to work as an academic advisor.

Quite the collector, Carolyn loved Havilland china, impressionistic art, Heywood Wakefield furniture and Shih Tzu dogs. 

From scooping ice cream in a small town in Iowa to being a successful career woman, she exemplified the belief that if you set your mind to do something, it will be. 

She is survived by her husband, Max, three daughters, eleven grandchildren, and her eight great-grand children.
