Dr. J. Bruce Wagner, Jr., 78, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away April 25, 2006. Born in Hampton, VA, he came to Arizona 29 years ago from Evanston, IL. He was a WWII Navy veteran who later graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. and Ph.D. in chemistry. Dr. Wagner completed his post doctoral work at M.I.T., Cambridge, MA. He was a professor at Penn. State University, Yale University, Northwestern University, and Regents Professor at Arizona State University. Group memberships include the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Kiwanis Club, Toy Train Operators Society and The Electrical Chemical Society. He is survived by his wife Phyllis M. Wagner; daughter Rebecca B. Wagner; sons James B. Wagner, III and Ashley S. Wagner; Grandchildren Amanda Wagner-Barber and Jacob A. Wagner; sister Mary Anne Gibbons; niece Anne Claire Eisner and nephews James Gibbons and Robert Gibbons.
