Bill Moor

   

William (Bill) C. Moor Joined the faculty of Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University as an Assistant Professor in the fall of 1968.  He earned  BSIE (1963)  and MSIE (1965) degrees from Washington University (St. Louis) and the PhD (1968) from Northwestern University. He retired from ASU in January 2007.  At ASU he held many different academic and administrative positions including, faculty senator-at-large for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, assistant chair of Industrial Engineering, director of the undergraduate program in Industrial Engineering and acting Chair of Industrial Engineering.

Dr. Moor held numerous national and local offices in his professional society, the Institute of Industrial Engineering.  He is a Fellow of the Institute, received the honor of National Student Advisor of the Year in 2005 and still serves as an officer of the local chapter (Treasurer for the past 10 years).  He also held numerous offices in the local administrative chapters of the American Bowling Congress and the United States Bowling Congress, serving as president of the Mesa Bowling Association of the ABC and as founding president of the Metropolitan Mesa Association of the USBC.

Bill and his wife, Marilyn (a retired RN), have been married for 45 years.  They have two children, Bill, an office manager in California, and Kathryn, a teacher of English in Korea.  His hobbies include bowling, stamp collecting, following ASU sports and reading "thrillers".
