Berdine Wehrwein, 90, died on June 15, 2013. She attended the University of Nebraska, and then transferred to the College of Idaho in Caldwell, ID. She later received her master's degree in reading education from the University of Chicago. Berdine continued teaching English and reading for more than 25 years. On retiring in 1977, Berdine and her husband, Art, moved to Phoenix, AZ. Berdine eventually went back to work at ASU until her final retirement. She is survived by a daughter, a son and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Art, a sister and a brother. A celebration of Berdine's life will take place later this summer at Regis University.
