Ben Huey
Associate Professor, Department of Engineering, College of Technology & Innovation - 1979-unknown
Dr. Huey received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1975. Dr. Huey joined ASU in 1979 and became Chair of the Division in July 2006. He was a founding member of Computer Science and Engineering on the Tempe Campus, and beginning in 1984, he served CSE as assistant chair, acting chair and associate chair. In 1999, he became associate dean for Planning and Administration in Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. He was centrally involved in the creation of the Consortium for Embedded Systems, and for the past year has served as Chair for the Board of Directors.
He has been heavily involved in development of embedded systems curriculum and does research in the area of VLSI synthesis and testing from hardware description languages. He is chair of the Criteria Committee for CSAB, a member of the ABET Computing Accreditation Commission, and a program evaluator for the ABET International Activities Council. Huey is a senior member of IEEE, ASEE, Eta Kappa Nu, Upsilon Pi Epsilon and Alpha Chi.
