Andrew “Andy” Haried, 77, passed away on May 21, 2013. Andy and his wife, Joyce, had two children. Andy was educated at Hasting College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received his Ph.D. Andy practiced as an accountant with Arthur Andersen. He co-authored a textbook in Advanced Accounting. He was revered as an excellent professor by colleagues and students alike. Even though limited physically by an accident, Andy exuded a positive attitude and was sought out for his wise counsel. He was dedicated to helping peoples from war-torn countries and assisted several families and individuals to immigrate to the United States. (Source: Joe Schultz, ASURA Member)
