Barry Bruns

Barry R. Bruns was appointed Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance at Arizona State University's West campus in 2007. In this capacity he provided high-level coordination for the campus as a whole in the areas of facilities management, facilities development, and business and auxiliary services. In February 2008, in addition to his responsibilities for the West campus, he was appointed to provide administrative leadership for ASU's Downtown campus.

Prior to these appointments, with a career that spans 36 years at Arizona State University, Mr. Bruns has served in the following administrative positions: Assistant Vice Provost for Administrative Affairs, West campus (2004-2007); Vice Provost for Planning and Budget, West campus (1989-2004); Assistant Vice President for Administrative Services, West campus (1985-1989); Associate Comptroller, Tempe campus (1982-1985); Assistant to the Vice President for Business Affairs, Tempe campus (1977-1982); and, Accountant, Tempe campus (1972-1977).

Mr. Bruns is a Certified Public Accountant and earned both his bachelor's degree in Accounting and his master's degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University. Professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants; and Society for College and University Planning.
